Presenting Europe’s widest range of cargo security solutions at the IAA

IAA Transportatiomn

Commercial vehicle security specialist Maple, are exhibiting at the IAA for the first time, showcasing a range of industry leading cargo security applications and innovative access control solutions.

Manchester – UK, 04/08/22

Startling figures released by TAPA last month highlight how cargo crime continues to blight the road transport industry. The figures reveal that in just a 100-day period more than 800 incidents were recorded, with losses totalling an eye watering €26,200,000.

But is this just the tip of the iceberg? As the cost of living crisis intensifies and its effects take a tighter and tighter grip on the economy, there are concerns that acquisitive crimes are likely to rise – leading many within the industry to question if cargo crime is set to spike over the coming months.

Whether these concerns are justified remains to be seen but what is certain, is that road transport remains the most vulnerable part of the supply chain – which is where, Commercial Vehicle Security specialist, Maple can help. The UK based company, are exhibiting at the IAA for the first time, where they will be demonstrating their innovative range of cargo security solutions.

A Modular Approach For Effective Cargo Security

Securing a commercial vehicle is far from a one-dimensional approach – with more than 45 years of experience, Maple understands that each operator has their own unique requirements. This is why Maple offer a modular solution that can be adapted to your fleet, ensuring operational efficiency is never compromised at the expense of achieving greater security.

Physical Security

The Maple product portfolio caters for all commercial vehicle specifications and door types, including shutter, barndoors, refrigerated bodies and panel vans. The Integritas and FreightLock ranges offered by Maple, allow the user to specify the desired level of physical security, with the option to integrate electronic sealing capabilities for enhanced load integrity. Both systems will be on display at the IAA, together with BondLock, a new to market high security van lock that has recently launched in the UK.

Access Control – Keyfob & Pin Codes

Arguably, the most important consideration when specifying goods in transit security applications, is the role of access control. Understanding the requirements of who needs access and when, whilst ensuring the right methods of control are in place to manage any lost or missing fobs, is crucial to maintaining security.

The Maple access control platform provides operators with the ability to tailor the solution for their own specific requirements. Operators can opt to control access via keyfobs or PIN codes, whilst for high security operations, integration with telematics provides remote access control capabilities.

Advanced Access Control – Fob Validation

Maple also support a range of advanced access control options that are particularly beneficial for scenarios where a large number of users may require fleet wide access (i.e. Trailer fleets). Our recently launched ‘Fob Validation’ platform allows operators the ability to enable secure, time limited access to authorised personnel. In operation, users simply ‘validate’ their keyfob as required, for a pre-defined period of time (i.e 12 hours, 1 week etc), thus facilitating greater control and minimising any risk of illicit behaviour.

Data Provides Accountability & Transparency

The final building block for an effective access control solution is data. As data plays an increasingly important role across all businesses, the appetite for insightful information around security operations is growing.

The Maple access control platform ensures all door activity is captured as part of a comprehensive audit trail, including who accessed a vehicle, when and where. All of this information can then be transmitted to the client’s database, thus providing an indisputable electronic event-log that assigns accountability, providing complete transparency of operation.
