Maple Wins Partnership Award at Motor Transport Awards 2021

We are delighted to announce, that Maple, together with our partners, RHA, DHL, RSA (Royal Sun Alliance), NaVCIS (National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service) and Motorway Buddy have won the Partnership Award at the Motor Transport Awards 2021.

Now in its 35th year, the prestigious awards celebrate outstanding achievement in the industry and recognise key contributions across the road transport sector. Judged by more than 50 senior industry figures, competition for the ‘industry Oscars,’ is fierce, with a host of international brands contesting the highly coveted awards.

The Partnership Award was in recognition of ‘The Cargo And Road Transport (CART) Security Guide,’ a collaborative project that sort to raise awareness of cargo crime within the road transport sector, whilst offering best practice guidance. The working group behind the project comprised well-respected, experienced professionals from the transport industry, including representation from the police and insurance bodies. All the members gave their time and support voluntarily to produce the security guides which are distributed free of charge to the industry.

Commenting on the project, Maple Marketing Manager, Paul Nunn said, “We are huge advocators of the principal that collaboration is key to combatting cargo crime. That was central theme of this project from the outset and why it was crucial to have input and representation from different areas of the industry. It truly was a partnership, so to be recognised by our industry peers in this category is particularly satisfying.”

Paul also went on to explain more about the origins of the security guides and why Maple were keen to back the project. “The original concept for the CART Security Guide was led by Chrys Rampley (formerly Manager of Infrastructure, Security & Business Affairs for the RHA) and Alan Maple (Technical Director for Maple). It was their passion and determination to drive understanding of the far reaching effects of cargo crime and how we can strive for a more secure industry that was the catalyst for this project. Without their passion and enthusiasm and indeed of all members of the working group, this project wouldn’t have been possible.’
