Maple Team Joins Forces with George Eliot Hospital Charity

Volunteering - George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust - Maple Fleet Services

Maple has always believed in the importance of giving back to our local communities. It is an ethos the company was founded upon and has continued to develop and flourish throughout our 50-year history.

So once again this year, we are delighted to be able to announce that colleagues are getting involved and making a difference for meaningful causes close to their hearts, within the Stockport and Hinckley areas.

Our Aftersales team in Hinckley spent two days helping to prepare a pop-up garden space for use by the staff at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. This was part of the HAVENS Project, a wide-ranging programme led by the hospital’s incredible volunteer team and supported and funded by George Eliot Hospital Charity, utilising spaces and planning activities that encourage staff to take breaks.

Established in 1996, the Hospital Charity was set up to provide extra funding in support of the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. Its mission – to improve patient care for individuals and their loved ones, invest in vital life-saving equipment, and promote staff wellbeing through training opportunities and the development of a supportive workplace environment.

Jenni Northcote, Chief Strategy, Improvement and Partnerships Officer at George Eliot Hospital Trust said: “We are immensely grateful to our volunteer team for their passion and hard work in creating this special garden. It’s a place where our staff can step away, breathe, and find a moment of calm during what can be very demanding days.”

Such a worthy cause and our Hinckley team were pleased to be able to give something back to our NHS, as they set about painting benches for the outside seating areas, helping create a welcoming and relaxing space for staff to enjoy. A fun day was had by all involved! 😊

The George Eliot Hospital Charity helps engineer a huge range of fundraising activities, everything from community music events and carnivals to trekking Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s tallest mountain!
