Understanding IQ

Basic IQ System Uses

The range of IQ enabled products combine the convenience of electronic sealing with high security locking.

Realising that at different points of the supply chain, the desired operation may change, the IQ platform enables the logistics professional to program units to operate in one of three typical access control levels.

Electronic Seal

For situations were vehicles, trailers or containers are not left unattended for extended periods of time, a randomly or sequentially generated 4-digit seal number displays each time the seal is set.

All information is captured in the unit’s auditable memory.

Sealable Lock

For security, automatically sealing units can be locked secure, either by pin numbers or being programmed to lock and seal with RFID key cards. Cards can be authorised to unlock only (breaking the seal), lock only or made to perform both tasks.

This can be used when multiple personnel are accessing a vehicle, trailer or container, throughout the supply chain; each person having a different level of responsibility or authority.

In addition to the visual change in LED status, once a unit has been sealed and then locked by transponder card, the event details are date stamped and recorded in the audit log. Thus defining who, when and where an event occurred.

'Geo Zone' Enabled Locking

By integrating the IQ seal and locking solutions with a suitable communication device (GSM/GPRS), a unit’s event activity can be known. Authorised pin numbers or RFID cards can be further controlled or limited to only function at set locations within the supply chain.

Point of delivery access can be enabled and controlled in house or through a third party monitoring bureaux, further enhancing an organisations ability to deliver an asset securely.
